Half-term activities to keep kids busy: Country edition

Pinecone bird feeders
Exploring the woods provides endless adventures and activities for you and your little ones. One great activity to do during half-term is making pinecone bird feeders. It's super easy to do and is a great way to get the kids involved with nature. All you need to do is hunt for those fallen pinecones and tie a secure knot around them with a piece of string. Next, spread some peanut butter over them and roll them in birdseed. Voila! Your treat for your feathered friends is ready to be hung up outside.

Outdoor picnic
What's better than a day out in the countryside? A picnic in the countryside, of course. There's nothing quite like finding a peaceful spot to sit down and relax with a nice flask of hot chocolate – yum! On chilly days, bring some blankets to snuggle and your favourite book to really unwind. This is family time at its very best.

Nature walk
This is a simple one, but with the stunning countryside at our doorsteps, taking the kids on a hike through the woods can be a great way to spend the day without spending any money. Countrylifemummy and her little ones are no strangers to the great outdoors – from looking for bugs and examining the different shapes and colours of the fallen foliage to puddle jumping and so much more. Den building
Get creative. The wilderness has endless possibilities of fun things to do, including one of countrylifemummy's favourite activities to do with her children – making dens! Gather some sticks, moss and other bits and bobs you find lying around the woods and work together to make the perfect little home for their cuddly toys. Because our soft friends deserve a home as special as they are, and you deserve to have fun doing it.
