The denim care guide
12 September 2023

A staple of any wardrobe, a good pair of jeans is fundamental to effortless everyday style. That’s why it’s important to keep them looking and feeling their best, so you can wear and love your denim for years to come. Keep reading for our top tips on how to care for your jeans and how to make them go the distance.
Maximising the times your wear your denim between washes is a key way to protect the fit and colour of your favourite styles. We would recommend aiming for four times at least. In the meantime, you can easily quick fix any spills or stains by using a damp cloth and mild soap detergent (no bleach), giving the affected area a little scrub. Sorted.
Denim can become shrunken and faded when washed on high temperatures. So, to look after your jeans, the environment and your electricity bill, wash that denim on a cold cycle – you can thank us later.
When it comes to protecting your denim, a little extra attention can make all the difference. Close the zipper, turn jeans inside out and fasten the buttons to prevent scratches to the zip and hardware and be sure not to overload the washing machine. As a heavy fabric, too much denim in one cycle can stop jeans coming out as squeaky clean as they should. Your denim will thank you for it.

We recommend avoiding the tumble dryer when it comes to drying your denim. Instead, keep them inside-out and let them air dry away from direct sunlight to help protect the fit and colour. Make sure to shake out the fabric around the waistband, re-shape the leg and ensure the pocket bags aren’t bunched up – no more soggy pockets here, thanks.
Can I iron my jeans, I hear you ask? Well, the answer is yes. As long you use a low temperature setting (preferable for cotton) on your iron then you shouldn’t have a problem. Top tip: iron your denim inside-out to avoid iron marks, especially on dark wash styles.
When it comes to storing your jeans, rolling is the new folding. Not only does it take up much less space in your drawer, but it’ll prevent those unwanted folds in your denim. For freshness, why not pop a tumble-dryer sheet at the bottom of your jean drawer – it’ll be like slipping on a freshly washed pair every time.
