What to wear for the coronation
27 April 2023

Four days of street parties and garden get-togethers, fetes and festivities, all set to celebrate the best of British. Ahead of the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III, we’ve put together a guide of what to wear, however you’re spending the bank holiday weekend. So, get ready to wave your flags loud and proud, pop open the bubbly and get Coronation-ready in a patriotic sea of red, white and blue.
Watching the ceremony from the comfort of your living room has its perks: front row viewing, prosecco on tap and a comfy, yet on-theme, dress-code – don’t mind if we do. Our pointelle cardigan has your covered, as well as boasting pretty scallop edging. It looks effortless layered over a tee. A comfy wide leg trouser is the obvious choice, and the elasticated waistband on our Mayla style is just the thing if you fancy another slice of Victoria Sponge… it is a royal celebration after all.
Mark the occasion in shades reminiscent of the Union Jack. Navy Bermudas are must if the sun’s out, alternatively a dark indigo jean works just as well. We’ve thrown on a red tee for a look that’s top-to-toe patriotic. All that’s left is the final flourishes to finish off the look, perfect for a right royal jubilation… even if it is just in front of the TV.
Raise a glass in this pretty floral number. It cinches in at the waist and falls to a feminine, flared skirt - perfect for curtsying! Add height (and elegance) with heeled espadrilles, or alternatively slip on a sandal for lawn parties. Give your look the royal treatment and finish off with your favourite jewels.
Dressing up for the occasion? Look no further than this dashing ensemble. A slick shirt paired with chinos is the ultimate smart-casual combination, perfect for a whole host of Coronation events. If you’re sipping on the fizz in the sunshine, simply switch out our Oxford for a linen style – cool and breathable, plus a little more laid-back. It’s three cheers from us!
